Being able to take the time to prioritize self is key when it comes to overall health and wellbeing. I am passionate about self-care and inspiring women to prioritize their own. Sometimes it is easier said than done. I don’t know about you but June felt like it belonged on a rollercoaster. Plenty of highs and lows, closing of chapters, embracing new opportunities and throw in a never ending cold and feeling of lethargy. I was happy to see the end of it yesterday.
I feel fortunate that I have the tools at my disposal to support me during periods like this but I feel the next month requires more of an emphasis on nurturing me. Being the middle month of Winter plus the kids on school holidays I feel that it is perfect timing to stop, reflect, regroup, reconnect and set myself up for the remainder of 2018.
So with a full moon, a new month and as the last of the winter sun sets, I declare today the start of a month of prioritizing self. For me it will be about prioritizing my own health and wellbeing, letting go of what no longer serves me and welcoming what does. It will include daily body boosting with positive affirmations, walks in nature, journaling, mindful eating, reading by the open fire, hot baths and time with loved ones. Life will be far from perfect but I give myself the permission to slow down and make myself a priority.
